Indian Railways has announced special relief for passengers traveling during the Diwali and Chhath Puja festival season. To ensure smoother travel and reduce congestion at major railway stations, the Railways has decided to waive platform ticket charges at select stations in Mumbai and Gujarat.

This move aims to manage the festive rush while providing convenience to travelers and their families. Generally, during festive seasons, railway stations witness a massive crowd as people travel back to their hometowns. By removing the need for platform tickets, passengers can easily access platforms to assist their relatives or see them off.

The stations where no platform ticket will be required have been identified based on passenger volume and crowd management requirements. The relaxation will remain effective throughout the Diwali and Chhath Puja period to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all passengers.

The Railways authorities have also urged travelers to follow safety protocols and cooperate with staff during the festive rush.

This initiative reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to providing better travel experiences and passenger-friendly services during India’s most celebrated festivals.
